Miriam Goldberg, a buddhist from Israel, a woman of considerable curiosity and a fine sense of humour, gave me my first and, as I think, last lessons in zazen. She died in the year 2000.

Monika Specht-Tomann sent me a text as a memento on Miriam. Which comprehends a quotation, a sentence Miriam once said, I liked.

I wanted to bring it out on the track.

I knew the place, where I wanted to write it down with chalk, so sun, wind and rain could take the words away.

But this is summer, everything grows and blooms
and occupies the long wall I would have needed for the quotation.

So imagine, what could have been done.
