Seit Jahren wird ein „Kampf der Kulturen“ angenommen. Das sind politische Phantasmen, die sich Fragen der Machtausübung widmen. Als Kunstschaffende wissen wir, daß sich unser Tun grundlegend aus den Vorleistungen vieler Generationen in ganz verschiedenen Kulturen schöpft.

Genau das repräsentiert die Crew von „next code: love“ unter anderem. Es gäbe das heutige Europa im besten Sinne gar nicht ohne dieses historische Wechselspiel kultureller Kräfte und Ideen, neben dem die Kriege immer bloß Ausdruck von Herrschaftsinteressen waren. (Sind?) Nun stellt sich immer noch die Frage: Können wir zusammen leben?

Wenn in diesem Projekt Menschen aus Ländern zusammenfinden, deren historische Hintergründe auf lateinischen, orthodoxen und islamischen Kulturen beruhen, auf der Suche nach Erzählungen der Liebe,dann ist das nicht nur in künstlerischen Ambitionen begründet. Wir drücken damit aus, daß in unserer Welt auf keinen dieser Bezugspunkte verzichtet werden kann. (Martin Krusche)

Practicing Contrast

For years a „clash of cultures“ has been supposed to exist. Those are political phantasms dedicated to the questions of the exercise of power. And as artists we know that our ways of doing are nourished fundamentally by the moves of many generations in completely different cultures.

Among other things the crew of „next code: love“ represents exactly that. There would not be today's Europe in the best sense at all without these historical interrelations of cultural forces and ideas, apart from which the wars were (are?) always only the expression of the interests of rule. And yet the question is still there to be underlined: Can we live together?

If in this project people find themselves together, coming from different countries based on latin, orthodox and islamic cultural backgrounds, searching for the narratives of love, this is not only reasoned in the artistic ambitions. What is pointed out is none can be done without these points of reference. (Martin Krusche)
