Die Veranstaltung ist Teil des Projektes "From Diaspora to Diversities", das in Kooperation von "Remont – unabhängigre Kunstverein" (Beograd), World Culture Center "Esperanza" (Skopje) und Kunst Ost (Graz) realisiert wird. Federführend: Kunsthistorikerin Mirjana Peitler-Selakov. Eine Kooperation von Kunst Ost mit der Akademie Graz.

Das Projekt bezieht sich auf den Begriff Diaspora im breiteren Kontext von Globalisierung, Mobilität und kulturellem Nomadismus. Es werden diverse Erfahrungen in temporärer oder dauerhafte Bleibe, die aber nicht dem Ursprungsort gleicht, dargestellt und die Rolle der kulturellen Unterschiede hier wie dort sowie die Probleme der Integration in die neuen Umstände thematisiert. "From Diaspora to Diversities" wird unterstützt von Balkans Arts and Culture Fund (BAC). Der BAC wird unterstützt vom Swiss Government durch Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) und European Cultural Foundation (ECF).
